Mc Conville and Boyle on Day 2 - 21 March 2006It was a disapointing day for our athletes at the MCG. Brendan Mc Conville was forced to withdraw from the mens decathlon with an ankle injury. Unable to drive from the blocks in his heat of the 100m, after medical advice took the sensible decision not to jump in the long jump.
Anna Boyle made her usual excellent start in the Womens 100m semi-final when finishing sixth in 11.67(+1.9). The first two and two next fastest made the final later won by Jamaican Sheri-Ann Brooks.
There are no NI athletes in action on Day 3. Eva Massey and James McIlroy compete on Day 4.
